Chelsea have completed the signing of striker Danny Welbeck from Brighton and Hove Albion on a two year contract.
The 35 year old joins Chelsea after an impressive season with Brighton. He scored 14 goals in 40 matches across all competitions. He will also travel with the squad on their pre season tour under new manager Xabi Alonso.
Chelsea did not reveal the transfer fee.
Welbeck said he is excited to begin a new chapter at Stamford Bridge.

Welbeck brings plenty of Premier League experience. He has made 400 league appearances during his career.
The England forward came through Manchester United’s academy and made his senior debut in 2008. He won the Premier League title under Sir Alex Ferguson and also lifted two League Cups.
He joined Arsenal in 2014 and scored 32 goals in 126 matches in all competitions. After one season with Watford, he moved to Brighton in 2020 and became one of the club’s key players.
Welbeck also scored 16 goals for England during his international career.
Chelsea finished 10th in the Premier League last season. They will begin their new league campaign away to Fulham on August 24.
