Following the commercial success of Borbaad, actor Shakib Khan and director Mehedi Hassan Hridoy are set to reunite for a new action film.
While the project has already generated excitement, speculation over the film’s leading actress has dominated discussions on social media.
Among the names circulating online is Sabila Nur, who previously shared the screen with Shakib Khan in Tandob and Rockstar. The rumours prompted fans to speculate that the actress might once again be paired with the Dhallywood star.
However, producer Shahreen Akter Sumi has dismissed the speculation, confirming that Sabila is not being considered for the upcoming project.
“We have not considered Sabila for this film. We already have plans regarding the heroine, but Sabila is not part of those plans. The film we are set to begin shooting in October will not feature her,” she said.
Director Mehedi Hasan Hridoy also confirmed that the female lead has yet to be finalised.
“Our heroine has not been selected yet. We will announce the casting soon. Let the script be locked first. We already have a few names in mind, and discussions are ongoing,” he said.
The film’s title has also not been confirmed.
Although names such as Nissho and Hayena have been circulating on social media, Hridoy said the official title would be revealed at the appropriate time.
According to the filmmakers, shooting is expected to begin in October, with the film targeting an Eid-ul-Fitr release next year.
The project marks another collaboration between Shakib Khan and Mehedi Hasan Hridoy after Borbaad, the director’s debut feature, which emerged as both a commercial and audience success.
Although the two reportedly experienced a period of distance after the film, they are now reuniting for what Hridoy describes as another action-packed entertainer.
The director said the new film will share the action-driven appeal of Borbaad while presenting Shakib Khan in a fresh character and narrative that audiences have not seen before.
