Popular film actor Ilias Kanchan has returned to Bangladesh after receiving treatment in the United Kingdom for more than 15 months.
Since his return, many of his colleagues from the film industry have been visiting him at his Gulshan residence.
Actress Champa recently visited Kanchan, creating an emotional moment when she offered him Zamzam water and prayed for his recovery.
Before giving him the water, Champa said, “Kanchan bhai, this is Zamzam water.
Make a wish before drinking it. Ask Allah to make your illness go away.”
Kanchan has been undergoing treatment in London since April last year after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Alongside treatment at a London hospital, he also stayed at his daughter Ema Islam’s residence during his recovery.
In August last year, Kanchan underwent brain surgery at a London hospital.
Doctors removed a significant portion of the tumour but could not remove it entirely because of the risks involved.
He was later diagnosed with brain cancer.
Following the surgery, he underwent an extensive course of treatment.
He initially received three months of chemotherapy, followed by oral therapy. According to family sources, he underwent more than 60 chemotherapy sessions over 12 weeks, receiving treatment five days a week.
After completing the first three-month course of oral therapy, he underwent another three-month course.
Overall, the actor went through several rounds of chemotherapy and oral therapy during his prolonged treatment.
After more than 15 months of treatment, Kanchan has now returned home.
His return has prompted an outpouring of affection from colleagues, friends and well-wishers in the film industry.
The emotional moment between Kanchan and Champa, particularly her offering him Zamzam water and praying for his recovery, has touched many in the film fraternity.
