CFA Society Bangladesh celebrated its 10th anniversary with a gala night in Dhaka on Saturday, bringing together policymakers, regulators, financial sector leaders, academics and investment professionals to mark a decade of advancing professional excellence in the country’s investment industry.
Held at Sheraton Dhaka, the event highlighted the society’s role in promoting ethical standards, professional education and investment expertise across Bangladesh’s financial sector over the past decade.
Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Masud Khan attended as chief guest, while Policy Exchange Bangladesh Chairman M Masrur Reaz delivered the keynote address on creating a conducive fiscal policy environment for improving the country’s investment climate.
The programme was also attended by senior representatives from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh, the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association and the Dhaka Stock Exchange Brokers Association.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, CFA Society Bangladesh recognised leading employers of CFA charter holders in the country, including Bangladesh Bank, BRAC Bank PLC, City Bank PLC, EDGE AMC, IDLC Finance PLC, Shanta Asset Management, Shanta Securities, Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh, HSBC Bangladesh and United Commercial Bank PLC for their role in fostering professional excellence in the investment profession.
The society also recognised top universities based on CFA programme registrations, including Bangladesh University of Professionals, BRAC University, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka, Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka and North South University.
Two volunteers were also recognised for their contributions in 2025–26.
Over the past decade, the community has promoted the CFA designation, facilitated continuing education, supported research and policy advocacy, and created professional development opportunities for investment professionals in the country.
The society said it would continue working to strengthen Bangladesh’s capital market and broader financial ecosystem through skills development, knowledge sharing and stakeholder engagement.
CFA Society Bangladesh, a member society of CFA Institute, has more than 131 CFA charter holders and around 80 associate members, while CFA Institute globally represents more than 1,70,000 charter holders through around 160 member societies.
