Golambari, a 110-year-old resident of Palongkhali Union in Ukhiya upazila, Cox’s Bazar, cast his vote on Thursday in the 13th parliamentary election and referendum.
Leaning on a walking stick and supported by his son, he arrived at Palongkhali Government Primary School at 9:30am to cast his vote.
Golambari said, “Voting is my right. Since childhood, I have seen that voting is important for the country. As long as I am alive, I want to cast my own vote”.
He also shared his hope for the future, stating, “I hope the new generation understands the importance of voting and gives their verdict in favour of good people in the country. Development and peace come through voting, so everyone must vote.”
Local observers noted that Golambari’s participation drew significant attention and inspired fellow voters at the centre.
