A family’s journey home for Eid-ul-Adha ended in tragedy on Tuesday morning when a bus rammed into their motorbike on the Dhaka–Barishal highway in Gouranadi upazila of Barishal district.
The deceased were identified as Firoz Hawladar, 36, son of Hakim Hawladar, his wife Monira Begum, 28, and their daughter Jannat, 10, of Ujirpur upazila.
The accident occurred in the morning when a Barishal-bound bus of ‘Taj Ananda Paribahan’ hit the motorbike carrying the family as they were travelling to their village home to celebrate Eid, leaving all three dead, said Mizanur Rahman, Station Officer of Gouranadi Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Following the crash, locals vandalised the bus. The driver fled the scene.
