Bangladesh Television (BTV) has announced a day-long lineup of special programmes to commemorate July Mass Uprising Day on Wednesday, 5 August.
The schedule will feature poetry recitations, interview-based programmes, panel discussions, cultural performances, live coverage of state events, and special fillers highlighting the July Mass Uprising throughout the day.
The special programming begins at 4:05pm with a poetry recitation programme produced by Jannatul Ferdous.
At 4:30pm, BTV will air an interview-based programme produced by Yasmin Akter, focusing on the painful memories of the Aynaghar detention centres.
At 7pm, viewers can watch a poetry recital centred on the July–August Mass Uprising, produced by Afroza Sultana.
A special discussion on the July–August Mass Uprising and the legacy of democracy, produced by Hasan Riyad, will be broadcast at 8:50pm. This will be followed at 10pm by a special programme combining music, dance, and discussions, produced by Mahbuba Jamin. Another special discussion programme, produced by Mostafizur Rahman, will air at 11pm.
In addition to the studio programmes, BTV will provide live coverage of several state events.
These include the reception for the families of the July martyrs and the July fighters from the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center, as well as the award-giving ceremony and discussion marking July Mass Uprising Day from the South Plaza of the National Parliament.
The President is scheduled to attend both events as the chief guest.
BTV will also broadcast live the inauguration ceremony of the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum, where the Prime Minister is expected to officially open the museum.
