The Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) has launched a multi-city roadshow in the United States aimed at strengthening Bangladesh’s links with the global semiconductor industry and attracting collaboration in research, talent development and technology investment.
The BSIA USA Roadshow 2026, running from 5–13 June, will bring together semiconductor companies, universities, accelerators, entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, policymakers and Bangladeshi-origin technology professionals across the United States.
BSIA President M A Jabbar and Purdue University Professor Muhammad Mustafa Hussain, chief architect of the Silicon River Bangladesh Initiative, are leading the delegation. Representatives from BSIA, academic institutions, the BRAINGAIN network and the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington are also participating.
The delegation will visit major technology hubs including Austin, Phoenix, Silicon Valley, Folsom, Berkeley and Portland. Meetings are scheduled with global industry players including AMD, NXP Semiconductors, SanDisk, GlobalFoundries, Synopsys, Credo Technology Group, Intel and Arm, alongside universities and startup accelerators.
The programme is part of the Silicon River Initiative, which seeks to connect Bangladesh with leading technology ecosystems through workforce development, research partnerships, entrepreneurship and innovation.
Over the past year, the initiative has supported programmes including the National Semiconductor Symposium, the BEAR Summit and skills development activities while engaging Bangladeshi technology professionals working abroad.
“Bangladesh’s greatest competitive advantage is its people. Through Silicon River and BRAINGAIN, we are creating opportunities for future generations, strengthening our innovation ecosystem and positioning Bangladesh as a participant in technologies that will shape the future,” Jabbar said.
Hussain said the roadshow would help build relationships with global industry leaders, universities, entrepreneurs, investors and the Bangladeshi diaspora while creating pathways for knowledge exchange, workforce development and long-term ecosystem growth.
BSIA expects the initiative to expand opportunities in semiconductor research, chip design, advanced packaging, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, technology transfer and other emerging technologies as Bangladesh seeks to develop a presence in the global semiconductor value chain.
