Britney Spears has entered a rehabilitation facility a month after her arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Her representative confirmed to US media on Sunday that the singer had voluntarily checked herself into treatment. No further details about the facility or duration of her stay were disclosed.

The move comes weeks after Spears was detained by California Highway Patrol on March 4 after allegedly driving erratically at high speed on a motorway. Officers said she showed signs of impairment and underwent field sobriety tests after being stopped.

Following the arrest, her representative described the incident as “completely inexcusable” and said her family and close circle were working on a plan focused on her wellbeing and stability. Spears is due to appear in court in California in the coming weeks to face the charge.

Spears, 44, remains one of the most commercially successful pop artists of her generation, known for hits including ‘Baby One More Time’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Stronger’.

Her personal life has been under intense public scrutiny for years, including a 13-year conservatorship that ended in 2021.
