Netflix has officially announced the title of Brad Pitt’s upcoming return as Cliff Booth, the stuntman he first played in Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Directed by David Fincher and written by Tarantino, the sequel is titled The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth.

The film will receive a two-week global IMAX run beginning November 25 before arriving on Netflix on 23 December.

Pitt will reprise his role as Booth in the film, which is set in 1977, eight years after the events of the original.

The story will follow Booth as he navigates a very different version of Hollywood.

The cast also includes Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis and Karren Karagulian.

Pitt and Ceán Chaffin are serving as producers.

While Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was directed by Tarantino, the filmmaker has handed directing duties to Fincher for the sequel.

Tarantino previously explained that he did not want to direct a follow-up because he plans for his next directorial project to be his final film and did not want it to be a sequel.

A brief teaser for the Cliff Booth project was released during the Super Bowl in February.

In the footage, Pitt’s character says, “I don’t possess many talents, but I know better than to get in the way of a good story.”

The original film, which starred Pitt alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie, was a major box-office success.

It earned $377 million worldwide and received 10 Oscar nominations, winning two, including Pitt’s first Academy Award for acting.

The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth marks Pitt’s first return to the character nearly seven years after the original film.

With Fincher behind the camera and Tarantino returning as writer, the sequel is already among Netflix’s most anticipated upcoming films.
