BRAC Bank PLC has crossed $1.5 billion in remittance inflows in the first five months of 2026, marking a 75 per cent year-on-year growth, the bank said in a press statement.
Approximately 1.5 million expatriate Bangladeshis used BRAC Bank’s services to transfer funds to their families, supporting households across the country.
The milestone reflects growing confidence in the bank’s remittance ecosystem, which includes tailored savings products for senders and beneficiaries accessible through its digital platform Astha. BRAC Bank has also expanded remittance corridors and strengthened host-to-host technology integration, supported by a nationwide network of 305 branches and 1,117 agent banking outlets, ensuring secure and efficient delivery of funds across Bangladesh.
Managing Director and CEO of BRAC Bank Tareq Refat Ullah Khan said, “This achievement demonstrates what can be achieved when trust, technology, and partnerships come together. We remain committed to making remittance services faster, safer, and more accessible while contributing to Bangladesh’s economic growth.”
Remittances continue to be a critical pillar of the Bangladeshi economy, sustaining families and contributing to foreign currency reserves. Through ongoing investments in technology and strategic partnerships, BRAC Bank aims to increase formal channel usage and deliver greater value to expatriates and their households.
