BRAC Bank opened the three-day ‘TARA Uddokta Mela 2026’ on 27 February at Aloki Convention Centre in Tejgaon, bringing together 88 women entrepreneurs to showcase locally made products ahead of Eid.
The fair, which runs until 1 March from 10am to 11pm daily, marks the fourth edition of the event, the bank said in a statement.
BRAC Bank Chairperson Meheriar M Hasan inaugurated the fair on 27 February.
BRAC Bank Independent Director Lila Rashid and Independent Director Anita Ghazi Rahman attended the ceremony.
BRAC Bank Managing Director and CEO Tareq Refat Ullah Khan and Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking Syed Abdul Momen were also present.
A total of 88 women entrepreneurs from across the country are participating, many from the manufacturing sector, showcasing boutique apparel, handmade crafts, clay and jute items, leather goods, Jamdani and Muslin attire, organic skincare, bamboo and rattan products, and traditional foods.
The bank has provided stalls free of charge to participants to help expand market access.
BRAC Bank has enabled QR code-based digital payments at all stalls, offering up to 20 per cent discounts on purchases made through QR payments during the fair.
“Women entrepreneurs are key drivers of inclusive growth in the country,” said BRAC Bank Managing Director and CEO Tareq Refat Ullah Khan.
“Through TARA Uddokta Mela, we are creating meaningful market access while preserving our rich heritage,” he said.
The event also features Iftar and dinner food courts ahead of Eid, aiming to attract shoppers during the peak festive season.
