A delegation representing Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met with former interim government Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at state guest house Jamuna on Saturday afternoon, shortly before Yunus vacated the premises.
The three-member team was led by the Prime Minister’s Defence Adviser, retired Brigadier General AKM Shamsul Islam. According to the Prime Minister’s Press Wing, the delegation also included Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar and Military Secretary Major General Abul Hasnat Mohammad Tariq.
The courtesy call took place at the official residence where Yunus had been staying since taking oath as chief adviser on 8 August last year. Following the meeting, Yunus departed from Jamuna.
The state guest house had served as the chief adviser’s official residence throughout the tenure of the interim government.
