The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) auction for the upcoming season concluded on 30 November 2025 at a five-star hotel in Dhaka, wrapping up the final team line-ups ahead of the tournament starting on 26 December 2025. Across the six franchises, each team signed 14 local and two foreign players, bringing the auction to a close.
Interest in foreign players was relatively low. Notably, Indian national team spinner Piyush Chawla went unsold, while three Sri Lankan cricketers did secure teams. Rangpur Riders, who initially did not bid for any overseas players, eventually signed Emilia Gay, who has played three T20 matches for Italy, and Pakistan’s Mohammad Akhlaq. Other overseas picks included Niroshan Dickwella for Noakhali Express ($35,000), Angelo Mathews for Sylhet Titans, and Dasun Shanaka for Dhaka Capitals.
A total of 147 local and 260 foreign players had registered for the auction, with 23 local players already signed directly by the franchises before the bidding began.
Franchises in the BPL auction were allowed to spend up to 4.5 crore on local players, but none reached that limit. Rangpur Riders spent the most on 12 players, shelling out 4.16 crore.
The second-highest spending came from Chattogram Royals, who spent 3.87 crore, including 1.1 crore on signing Mohammad Naim in the first round. Rajshahi Warriors, who took the most players at 13, spent 3.81 crore.
Noakhali Express spent the least, shelling out 2.63 crore for 12 local players. Sylhet Titans spent 2.74 crore, while Dhaka Capitals spent 3.38 crore.
Franchises could have spent up to $3.5 lakh on foreign players, but Noakhali Express, Rangpur Riders, and Rajshahi Warriors did not even reach $0.5 lakh. Dhaka Capitals spent the most, $0.75 lakh, and were the only team to acquire three foreign players from the auction.
