After several postponements, the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) player auction is scheduled for 30 November at a five‑star hotel in Dhaka. More than 500 overseas cricketers initially registered for the auction, but following vetting, the BPL Governing Council has finalised a list of 250 international players.
Notable names in the auction
Among the overseas entrants is Indian leg-spinner Piyush Chawla, marking the first Indian player in the BPL auction list. Other prominent names include Ravi Bopara, Johnson Charles, Paul Stirling, Ryan Burl, Bas de Leede, and Sandeep Lamichhane. Players such as George Munsey, Salman Ali Agha, Wayne Parnell, Niroshan Dickwella and Matheesha Pathirana are also in the pool.
Sri Lanka contributes the highest number of overseas players, with 50 cricketers in the auction pool. Pakistan follows with 45, India with three, Ireland with six, Afghanistan with 18, and the United Kingdom with 54 players.
Ahead of the auction, franchises may directly sign up to two domestic and two overseas players, though they must sign at least one domestic and one overseas player. From the auction, each franchise is required to purchase at least two overseas players. A team may spend up to 350,000 USD for four overseas players, and additional signings are permitted post-auction if desired.

The 250 overseas players have been divided into five categories:

Category A – base price 35,000 USD, increments of 5,000 USD
