Tanim Noor’s much-acclaimed Eid release ‘Bonolota Express’ has achieved a new milestone at the North American box office, becoming the first Bangladeshi film to cross the $400,000 mark in the region.
The film, which has been screening across multiple theatres in the US and Canada, is currently running in around 21 cinemas and has seen strong audience turnout since release.
Industry figures indicate that the film has outperformed several previous Bangladeshi releases internationally, including surpassing the lifetime North American earnings of Hawa (2022) within a short span.
According to its international distributor, ‘Bonolota Express’ has grossed over $401,000 within 17 days of release and continues to perform steadily into its third week, adding a further reported $40,000 in collections.
Supported by Buriganga Talkies and co-produced by Hoichoi Production, the ensemble cast of ‘Bonolota Express’ includes Mosharraf Karim, Chanchal Chowdhury, Intekhab Dinar, Zakia Bari Momo, Afsana Mimi, Shariful Raj, Shyamal Mawla, Arefin Zilani, Labanya Chowdhury, Sabila Noor and others.
