BNP’s politics is about changing people’s destiny. If the people of the country stand by the party, any plan can be implemented, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said on Monday.
“We are building a party whose mission is to serve the people,” he said. He also cautioned citizens to remain alert against those who try to mislead with “sweet words.”
He said, “Many speak nicely but aim to harm the country.”
The BNP chairman made the remarks while inaugurating a canal excavation programme at Sahapara in Kaharol upazila of Dinajpur.
Addressing the crowd, he said, “Today we dug a canal. I will keep records of this programme. Once the digging is completed, I will return here to see it again.”
Speaking to families with relatives abroad, the premier said, “When you talk to them, don’t they say their country is beautiful? It wasn’t made beautiful by magic. The people there did it. If they can, why can’t we?”
Highlighting BNP’s political ideology, he added, “Thinking of people’s welfare is BNP’s politics. But I cannot do this alone. The people must join. Without public support, development is impossible. The owners of this country are its people.”
