BNP is expected to announce its election manifesto on Friday ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, said Mahdi Amin, spokesperson of the party’s Election Steering Committee.

Mahdi Amin made the statement while responding to journalists at a press conference held on Tuesday afternoon at the BNP Election Steering Committee office in Gulshan.

He said the party has already completed most of the work on the manifesto, noting that BNP has engaged in consultations with people from various professional and social groups across the country through its organisational network.

He added that several programmes have also been conducted focusing on the manifesto as well as the party’s 31-point and 27-point proposals.

“Based on these activities, the manifesto is almost finalised. There is a plan to announce it next Friday,” he said.

At the press conference, Mahdi Amin alleged that at least 29 false and misleading pieces of information targeting BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman have been circulated over the past week. He claimed that fact-checking platforms have published reports identifying these claims as disinformation.

He further alleged that leaders and activists of a political party are spreading old and false narratives, using similar language and slogans to mislead the public and engage in personal attacks.

Mahdi Amin said such actions reflect an attempt to divert attention amid what he described as growing public support for BNP, adding that healthy political competition is being replaced by disinformation campaigns.

He also informed that BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit Barishal and Faridpur on Wednesday as part of his election campaign.
