Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, in partnership with MetLife Foundation, will organize 200 mobile book fairs across Bangladesh by 2027.
The initiative aims to promote reading and cultural engagement in communities nationwide, MetLife said in a press release.
The mobile book fairs, funded by MetLife Foundation, will travel to various districts, providing access to books and cultural programs designed to foster a love for literature.
Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Founder and Chairman of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, said, “A nation’s progress is rooted in its love for books. These fairs bring diverse, quality literature to people’s doorsteps, nurturing curiosity, reflection, and critical thinking.”
Ala Ahmad, CEO of MetLife Bangladesh, added, “We are excited to partner with Bishwo Shahitto Kendro again. MetLife Foundation is committed to supporting Bangladesh’s growth, and this initiative brings books and cultural experiences to communities across the country.”
This partnership marks the second consecutive year of collaboration between the two organizations. In 2025, MetLife Foundation supported over 128 mobile book fairs, drawing more than 200,000 visitors.
MetLife Foundation has contributed over $1 billion to strengthen communities, focusing on economic empowerment, financial health, and resilient communities.
