The death of Afra Ibnath Khan Iqra, wife of actor Zaher Alvi, has deeply shaken the entertainment industry. As tributes and reactions continue to pour in, actress Ashna Habib Bhabna has shared an emotional social media post reflecting on women’s emotional burdens and societal pressures.

In a lengthy status titled “Suicide”, Bhabna spoke about how many women grow up prioritising others over themselves. She suggested that social and family structures often teach girls to be self-sacrificing, leaving little room to nurture their own identity or wellbeing.

Bhabna wrote that women frequently move from obeying parents to partners and eventually children, rarely living for themselves. She also addressed the stigma surrounding failed relationships, noting that fear of judgment often compels women to remain in unhealthy situations. “When love has to be constantly proven, it ceases to be love,” she observed, adding that personal wellbeing is more important than simply holding on to a relationship.

Concluding her message, Bhabna reflected on faith and resilience, saying that life’s hardships can change with time and that strength comes from belief and patience.
