The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Traffic Division filed a total of 1,061 cases on Sunday against motorists violating traffic rules across the capital.

According to DMP traffic sources, the operation targeted vehicles in multiple zones. In the Ramna division, 109 cases were filed, involving 10 buses, one truck, one covered van, 16 CNGs and 26 motorcycles.

Lalbagh division saw 68 cases, including three buses, five trucks, two covered vans, seven CNGs and 34 motorcycles.

In Motijheel, 85 cases were registered covering 10 buses, five covered vans, seven CNGs and 45 motorcycles.

Wari division accounted for 145 cases, including 12 buses, 23 trucks, 21 covered vans, 17 CNGs and 35 motorcycles.

Tejgaon division had 83 cases with five buses, four covered vans, four CNGs and 34 motorcycles.

Mirpur division saw 112 cases involving 12 buses, 10 trucks, seven covered vans, 11 CNGs and 55 motorcycles.

Uttara division led with 284 cases, covering 36 buses, 15 trucks, 12 covered vans, 44 CNGs and 95 motorcycles.

Gulshan division recorded 175 cases, including 10 buses, two trucks, two covered vans, 17 CNGs and 53 motorcycles.

During the operation, authorities impounded 497 vehicles and placed 234 vehicles on record.

The DMP said its traffic division will continue regular operations to maintain discipline on Dhaka’s roads. Officials stressed that such campaigns are part of ongoing efforts to ensure road safety and reduce congestion across the capital.
