Two platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed to maintain security and ensure overall law and order during the 199th Eid-ul-Adha Jamaat at the historic Sholakia Eidgah in Kishoreganj.
The information was disclosed in a BGB press release issued on Wednesday.
According to the statement, alongside its regular responsibilities at the border, BGB has long been performing duties in maintaining internal law and order with professionalism and efficiency.
As part of those efforts, two platoons of BGB members have been deployed, as in previous years, to ensure the security of worshippers attending the country’s largest Eid congregation and to help maintain a peaceful environment.
BGB personnel will work in coordination with the district administration and other law enforcement agencies to create a security perimeter around the Eidgah ground and surrounding areas.
Worshippers attending the Jamaat have been requested to use only designated entry points and avoid carrying bags, sharp objects or any suspicious items.
The press release said BGB has consistently carried out its assigned duties with honesty, dedication and professionalism.
