Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has transferred three police inspectors and assigned them new responsibilities, including the appointment of a new officer-in-charge (OC) for Cantonment Police Station.
An official order signed by DMP Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters and Administration) Md Shahriar Ali announced the reassignments on Thursday.
According to the notification, Inspector (unarmed) Muhammad Gias Uddin, who was serving at DMP Line OR, has been transferred as the officer-in-charge of Cantonment Police Station.
Meanwhile, Inspector (unarmed) Md Abdus Salim, who was also attached to DMP Line OR, has been posted as the inspector (operations) (unarmed) of Gulshan Police Station.
Additionally, Md Mizanur Rahman, who previously served as the inspector (operations) (unarmed) of Gulshan Police Station, has been reassigned to the Counter Terrorism Investigation Division.
The order noted that the transfers and postings were made in public interest and will remain in force until further notice. The directives come into immediate effect.
The administrative restructuring comes after the former officer-in-charge of Cantonment Police Station, Md Rakibul Hasan, was withdrawn (closed) on 17 September following the circulation of a controversial audio recording on social media.
