Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed at fuel depots nationwide to prevent hoarding and maintain discipline in distribution.
So far, BGB has been stationed at 19 depots to ensure uninterrupted supply.
A press release signed by BGB Headquarters’ Public Relations Officer Md Shariful Islam was issued on Saturday.
The release said BGB has been deployed under a well-structured plan. To facilitate duties in remote areas, members are operating from temporary base camps set up in secure locations.
Since the morning of 25 March, BGB personnel have been deployed at 19 depots across nine districts: Dhaka, Kurigram, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Cumilla, Brahmanbaria, and Sunamganj.
Led by an officer, the deployed members are conducting regular monitoring, strictly enforcing administrative and security measures, and taking immediate steps to counter any untoward situation.
Intelligence surveillance has also been strengthened to prevent illegal fuel hoarding and sales, as well as sabotage.
