A 17-year-old bus helper named Shaon was killed in a road accident in Konapara area of Jatrabari, Dhaka.
The accident took place at around 5:30pm on Thursday on the main road in Konapara Golden Bridge area.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Shahin Hossain of Jatrabari Police Station said the deceased, Shaon, was a helper on a DTL bus operating on Gulistan-Vulta route. In the afternoon, as their bus was heading from Gulistan towards Vulta, Shaon was standing near the door of the vehicle.
A truck coming from the opposite direction hit him in Konapara Golden Bridge area, resulting in his death on the spot.
Upon receiving the information, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for a post-mortem examination.
The SI further informed that detailed particulars regarding the deceased Shaon could not be ascertained immediately, as he used to stay inside the bus itself. Immediately following the incident, police seized the truck and detained its driver.
