Bangladeshi umpires Masudur Rahman and Gazi Sohel are set to play prominent roles in the upcoming DP World Asia Cup 2025, with Masudur appointed as an on-field umpire for the high-profile India vs Pakistan clash in the group stage. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) confirmed the full list of match officials on Monday, including assignments for all 12 group-stage matches.
Masudur will stand as an on-field umpire in the eagerly anticipated India-Pakistan Group A match on 14 September in Dubai, widely considered the marquee fixture of the opening phase. Earlier in the tournament, both he and Sohel will officiate the India vs UAE match on 10 September, with Sohel on-field and Masudur acting as the fourth umpire.
In the Pakistan vs Oman fixture on 12 September, Masudur will once again serve as an on-field umpire while Sohel will take on the role of TV umpire. The pair will also officiate the Sri Lanka vs Hong Kong Group B match on 14 September, with Sohel on-field and Masudur handling third umpire duties.
Sohel will complete his group-stage assignments as the fourth umpire in the Pakistan vs UAE match on 17 September in Dubai.
The 17th edition of the tournament begins on 9 September, with the opening Group B match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi.
