Visiting Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday to discuss issues of mutual cooperation between Bangladesh and Turkiye.
The meeting took place at the prime minister’s office in Tejgaon in morning, said Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Saleh Shibly. During the discussions, the two leaders focused on strengthening bilateral relations and collaboration across various sectors.
Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir, and State Minister Shama Obaed were also present.
Fidan arrived in Dhaka from Seoul on Thursday night for a three-day official visit.
On Friday, he held a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman at the Hotel InterContinental Dhaka before travelling to Cox’s Bazar to observe the Rohingya situation. He is scheduled to depart Dhaka later on Saturday.
