Bangladesh will miss two key players in the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe. Captain Litton Das and fast bowler Taskin Ahmed will not be available as they are set to play in the 2026 Lanka Premier League.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board has given No Objection Certificates to both players. They will travel to Sri Lanka to join their respective franchises for the tournament.
Litton has signed for Galle Gladiators, while Taskin will play for Jaffna Kings. Their participation means Bangladesh will have to plan for the Zimbabwe series without two experienced members of the squad.
Shakib Al Hasan has also received an NOC from the BCB. The veteran all rounder will take part in the Lanka Premier League as well. He has been signed by Jaffna Kings and will share a dressing room with Taskin during the competition.
The Lanka Premier League is set to begin in July. Several Bangladesh cricketers will feature in the tournament, which has become a popular event for players from around the world.
Bangladesh selectors are now expected to look at other options for the Zimbabwe series. The squad announcement is likely to come soon as preparations continue for the home assignment.
