Bangladesh has once again demonstrated its growing academic excellence on the global stage, as 18 student’s secured prestigious awards at the GELOSEA & ISLO International Round 2026 held in Singapore.

The international competitions-Global English Olympiad of Southeast Asia (GELOSEA) and International Spelling Bee and Linguistic Olympiad (ISLO)-were held on 5 April, followed by an award ceremony on 7 April at D’Marquee in Pasir Ris, reads a press release.

The events brought together participants from multiple countries, highlighting global talent in English language proficiency, spelling, and linguistic skills.

The Bangladeshi contingent participated under the facilitation of International Olympiads Bangladesh, which managed the entire process from national-level selection to international participation. The organisation coordinated registration, examinations, travel arrangements, and on-ground support for the students.

Among the 18 participants, several students earned top distinctions, including gold, silver, bronze, and diamond medals.

Notably: Dev Nila Dutta, Ehan Waise Rahman, Sanaya Binte Sifat, Zoya Ahsan, Ayesha Anwar, Mahbeer Jubayer Khan Zayeem, and Lognojoyee Barua secured Gold Medals. Aaron Aariz Molia earned a Diamond Medal, one of the highest recognitions. Zayer Al Nahiyan and Fatema Manha Islam achieved Diamond Medals along with 1st Runner-Up positions.

Multiple students also received silver and bronze medals, reflecting a strong overall performance by the Bangladeshi team.

Participants represented a range of reputed institutions, including Cantonment English School & College, Navy Anchorage School and College, St Joseph International School, Sunnydale, and Bangladesh International School and College, among others.

Global Platform for Young Talent

The competitions are organised by GLOW, Inc. International, a global platform that hosts international Olympiads aimed at developing language and analytical skills among students. Beyond academic competition, the event also promotes cultural exchange and international collaboration among young learners.

A Reflection of Growing Potential

Education stakeholders have hailed the achievement as a testament to the increasing competitiveness of Bangladeshi students on the global stage. The success reflects not only the students’ dedication but also the support of their families, teachers, and institutions.

International Olympiads Bangladesh congratulated all award winners and emphasised its commitment to expanding access to international academic platforms.

The organisation noted that its online national selection process enabled students from across the country to participate without geographical limitations.
