The School of Science and Engineering (SSE) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) inaugurated the two-day 2nd International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communication, Electrical, and Smart Systems (iCACCESS 2026) on Friday, at the ULAB campus in Dhaka.

Md Akhter Hossain Khan, chairman of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC), inaugurated the conference, reads a press release.

In his remarks, he highlighted the importance of international academic gatherings in advancing research, encouraging innovation, and strengthening collaboration among researchers and institutions. 

He also emphasised the role of emerging technologies in addressing contemporary challenges and contributing to national development.

Shamsad Mortuza, vice chancellor of ULAB, attended the inaugural ceremony. 

In his address, he underscored the growing importance of interdisciplinary research and technological advancement in higher education. He highlighted ULAB’s commitment to creating opportunities for academic exchange and fostering an environment where researchers and students can contribute to innovation and knowledge creation.

Following its inaugural edition in 2024, iCACCESS 2026 brings together researchers, academics, industry professionals and students to share research findings, explore emerging technologies and foster collaboration in computing, communication, electrical engineering and smart systems.

The conference provides a platform for exchanging ideas, strengthening international research collaboration and addressing emerging technological challenges.

The VC also expressed his appreciation for hosting an international academic event of this scale at ULAB and highlighted its contribution to the university’s research and innovation initiatives.

Speaking about the conference, Muhammad Golam Kibria, dean of the School of Science and Engineering at ULAB, emphasised the importance of bringing together researchers and professionals from diverse fields to share knowledge, present innovative ideas and build academic and industry partnerships.

He noted that iCACCESS 2026 offers an important platform for advancing research and exploring technological solutions with practical applications.

Organised by ULAB’s School of Science and Engineering, with technical co-sponsorship from the IEEE Bangladesh Section and sponsorship from UDGEL (US-DK Green Energy (BD) Ltd.), iCACCESS 2026 features technical sessions and research presentations, fostering knowledge exchange and academic collaboration across disciplines.

The two-day international conference will conclude on Saturday following a series of technical discussions and research presentations.
