Jagannath University (JnU) has invited online applications from eligible graduates, postgraduates and researchers to attend its second convocation, scheduled for 30 January 2027.
Applications will open at noon on 15 October and remain open until 11:59pm on 20 November, according to a university notice issued on Thursday.
The notice, signed by JnU Registrar Prof Md Sheikh Gias Uddin, said the decision to hold the Second Convocation-2027 was taken at the 77th meeting of the university’s Academic Council on 10 September.
Students from the 2014-15 to 2020-21 academic sessions who completed undergraduate (honours), BBA or equivalent degrees will be eligible to apply.
For postgraduate, MBA or equivalent programmes, students from the 2016-17 to 2022-23 academic sessions can participate.
MPhil, PhD and professional or evening programme students will also be eligible.
Students who have earned degrees from other universities may also attend the convocation based on a degree obtained from Jagannath University. However, no student or researcher will be allowed to participate on the basis of more than one degree.
According to the notice, applications can be submitted through the university’s convocation website from noon on 15 October to 11:59pm on 20 November.
The registration fee for undergraduate (honours), BBA or equivalent programmes is Tk5,000, while the fee for the original certificate is Tk500.
For postgraduate, MBA or equivalent programmes, the registration fee is Tk6,000 and the original certificate fee is Tk500.
For MPhil and PhD programmes, the registration fee is Tk6,500 and the original certificate fee is Tk1,000.
The registration fee for postgraduate professional and evening programmes is Tk8,000, while the original certificate fee is Tk800.
The notice said service charges would apply where applicable.
The second convocation of Jagannath University is scheduled to be held on 30 January 2027, with the President of Bangladesh, who is also the university’s Chancellor, scheduled to preside.
