A high-level Bangladeshi delegation, led by Ashik Chowdhury, Executive Chairman of BIDA, BEZA, and MIDA, and CEO of PPPA, has arrived in Türkiye for a six-day mission to strengthen bilateral investment ties.
The mission, starting on 6 October 2025, aims to attract Turkish investment into key sectors of Bangladesh’s fast-growing economy, with a focus on textiles, renewable energy, telecommunications, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, and more.
From 7 to 8 October, the delegation will hold G2B meetings with Turkish conglomerates already operating in Bangladesh and others exploring new ventures.
The talks will address regulatory bottlenecks, investment pathways, and Bangladesh’s efforts to improve its ease of doing business through BIDA’s reform framework.
The delegation will also collaborate with Invest in Türkiye, the national investment agency, and IFC in workshops on FDI pipeline development, investor aftercare, and policy reform.
The delegation is expected to focus on expanding the scope for Turkish investment in Bangladesh’s infrastructure, energy, and textile sectors, and address any challenges in facilitating these investments. The mission will highlight the business-friendly reforms under BIDA’s Investor Facilitation Framework, which has significantly improved the ease of doing business in Bangladesh.
Ashik Chowdhury said, “Our goal is to build long-term strategic partnerships. With Türkiye’s strong industrial presence, there is immense potential for joint ventures, technology transfer, and co-investment.”
The mission will conclude on 9 October with the Bangladesh–Türkiye Investment Seminar in Istanbul, showcasing Bangladesh as a competitive FDI destination.
The event will feature success stories from companies like Koç Holding, Coca-Cola, and Aygaz, with sector presentations and networking opportunities for Turkish and Bangladeshi business leaders.
This mission aligns with Bangladesh’s broader vision to become a dynamic partner in the global economy through reform, modernization, and strategic international collaboration. Through these collaborative efforts, Bangladesh seeks to refine its investment environment, ensuring sustainable growth and fostering a more investor-friendly landscape.
