The sci fi sequel earned $14 million, showing remarkable staying power despite a modest week to week decline overall. Industry analysts expect the film to collect thirty six million dollars by Sunday, pushing domestic earnings beyond three hundred million.

Family releases and holdover titles continued filling theatres, with several established films benefiting from extended holiday attendance across the country. ‘Zootopia 2’ secured second place on Friday, earning $7.1 million and outperforming its previous week box office. The animated sequel continues drawing young audiences during winter school holidays, delivering a rare late run box office boost period.

Disney’s hit now approaches $18 million for the weekend, lifting domestic takings to approximately $362 million. Globally the film has already become Disney Animation’s highest earner, surpassing ‘Frozen Two’ with record breaking worldwide receipts this year.

‘The Housemaid’ claimed third place on Friday, matching last week’s numbers and reinforcing its steady commercial performance at cinemas nationwide. Lionsgate expects the thriller to earn nearly $14 million by Sunday, taking its domestic total past $74 million.

‘Marty Supreme’ and ‘Anaconda’ rounded out the top five, each posting moderate declines while maintaining solid audience interest nationwide cinemas.
