Another person has been arrested in connection with the gun attack on Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inquilab Mancha.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) said in a message that the suspect, identified as Kabir, was arrested from Narayanganj on Monday night.
The message said Kabir is a close associate of Faisal, the main accused in the case.
Earlier, on Friday, Osman Hadi, a prospective independent candidate from Dhaka-8, was critically injured when he was shot in the head while traveling in a moving battery-run rickshaw, the assailant firing from a motorcycle.
In critical condition, he was first taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
After undergoing one round of surgery, he was admitted to Evercare Hospital for advanced treatment.
On Monday, Osman Hadi was flown to Singapore by air ambulance for further medical treatment.
