A fire, that broke out at the Ayesha Clothing Ltd factory, a concern of the Palmal Group, near the Jamgora area on the Tongi-Ashulia-EPZ road, was brought under control after four hours of frantic efforts.
The incident occurred at around 12:15pm on Monday. Being informed, nine units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze.
Deputy Director Alauddin of DEPZ Fire Service Zone-4 confirmed the fire was brought under control by 3pm and fully extinguished at 4:07pm.
No casualties have been reported so far. The cause behind the fire and extent of damage could not be known immediately. Authorities are investigating the incident and will share more details after it’s completed.
