The long wait is finally over for fans of Arifin Shuvo. The Dhallywood star has made his Bollywood entry and the first glimpse of his new series has now been revealed.

The project, produced by Kolkata-based filmmaker Soumik Sen, is set against the backdrop of Bangladesh’s Liberation War. The retro-styled series features Shuvo in striking 1970s looks, from a sharp grey slim-cut suit to a glittering white ensemble and even a classic white Punjabi. His carefully crafted retro hair and wardrobe complete the authentic period feel.

The series, titled ‘Jazz City’, is being made for Indian streaming platform Sony LIV, which recently shared snippets of its upcoming lineup. Shuvo appears in multiple avatars across the few seconds shown, hinting at a performance rich in style and range.

Alongside Shuvo, the cast includes several well-known faces from Bollywood and Tollywood, among them actress Souraseni Mitra, who stars opposite him. Shot on elaborate retro sets, the production aims to transport viewers directly into the atmosphere of the ’70s.

The first-look reveal has already stirred buzz among audiences, with fans excited both for the Liberation War narrative and for Shuvo’s stylish transformation. His crossover into Bollywood marks a milestone in his career and now all eyes are on the upcoming full-length teaser to see how much of his magic translates to this new stage.
