Argentina made a strong start to the five-match T20 series in Buenos Aires. They beat Brazil by eight wickets in the first game. Argentina had also won both of their previous meetings in 2019 and 2024. They kept that record intact at home.
Brazil batted first and reached only 109 runs. Only the two openers crossed ten. Luis Morais played well for 51. Rezauyl Karim scored 17. All the other batters failed to reach double figures. Argentina bowled with good discipline. Lucas Rossi took three wickets for eight runs. Agustín Rivero picked up two more.
Argentina chased the target with ease. They reached 110 for two in 14.5 overs. Pedro Baron led the chase with 53 from 42 balls. He hit seven fours and one six. Alejandro Ferguson added 23 and gave Argentina a strong start. The two openers made a 74-run partnership. Alan Kisbaum finished on 17 not out. Manuel Iturbe stayed on eight at the other end.
The second match will take place on 28 November at 10 am local time. The third match will be played on the same day at 3 pm. The fourth and fifth games will be held on 30 November. The timings are 10 am and 3 pm.
