Ansar-VDP members have been deployed in 11 border districts of the country, according to a press release issued by the Ansar and Village Defence Force headquarters.
Sources in the force said Ansar-VDP members were included in border-area operations under a memorandum of understanding signed with the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in 2025.
The arrangement has strengthened coordination and made border management and security operations more effective.
Deputy Director of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force Md Ashikuzzaman said Ansar-VDP members have been performing duties in border areas in coordination with BGB, in line with state security needs and the agreement.
He said Ansar-VDP members have already been deployed in 11 districts to help prevent push-ins along the border.
The districts are Chapainawabganj, Naogaon, Joypurhat, Jashore, Jhenaidah, Satkhira, Thakurgaon, Dinajpur, Sylhet, Jamalpur and Khagrachhari.
