Producer, actor and garment industrialist Anant Jalil is set to step back from his garment business and refocus on cinema, marking a significant shift in his professional priorities.
The filmmaker, who has been away from films for nearly three years while managing his business ventures, is now reportedly withdrawing from his industrial operations amid ongoing financial and operational challenges.
According to Ananta, his group’s concern AB Fashion, under AJI-Sister Concern, has already been leased to a Chinese company, with further restructuring plans underway.
While he did not go into detail about the reasons behind the decision, Ananta Jalil referred to complications related to bank loans as a key factor behind the move.
The actor said he now intends to dedicate more time to acting and modelling after stepping back from day-to-day business responsibilities.
Recently, Ananta Jalil and his wife Afiea Nusrat Barsha joined Sheba Holdings Limited as goodwill ambassadors, appearing in promotional campaigns for the company.
In earlier comments, he admitted that his interest in business often overshadowed his film work, saying his attention would frequently return to commercial matters even during shooting schedules. He had previously suggested that he would only return fully to films once his business situation stabilised.
Ananta Jalil made his film debut with ‘Khoj: The Search’ and has since appeared in several productions, often alongside Barsha.
His upcoming films ‘Netri: The Leader’ and ‘Operation Jackpot’ remain unreleased.
