Amitabh Bachchan once faced an untrained tiger on the set of Khoon Pasina, encouraged by the birth of his son Abhishek, according to veteran stuntman Mohan Baggad.
Speaking to NDTV, Baggad recalled how he performed the dangerous stunt for Bachchan after the film’s makers decided that the actor’s regular stuntman was not suitable for the scene because of his dark complexion.
Baggad said action director Veeru Devgan asked him to perform the stunt. Although frightened, he agreed and continued for two to three days after becoming more comfortable around the tiger.
“When Amit ji saw me, he also got encouraged and said, ‘I’d do the scene too,’” Baggad recalled.
He said the stunt was particularly dangerous because the tiger was untrained and could have seriously injured his face with a single swipe.
Baggad said Bachchan’s courage that day came after he received the news on 5 February 1976 that he had become a father to Abhishek.
