Actress Puja Cherry, who has been busy promoting her Eid release ‘Domm’, took a moment on the third day of the festival to share a deeply personal reflection. Today marks the second death anniversary of her mother, Jhorna Roy, who passed away on March 24, 2024, after a brief period of illness.
In a poignant social media post, Puja described the enduring void left by her mother’s absence. She wrote that despite the passage of time, some losses remain impossible to fill, adding that her longing and memories continue to shape her every day.
Puja recalled the closeness she shared with her mother, expressing that no one else could understand her the way her mother did.
Describing her mother as her “biggest shelter in the world,” the actress reflected on the comfort, joy and quiet support she once provided, noting that those moments now live only in memory. She also shared a sense of connection in the sky, imagining her mother watching over her from a distant star.
She concluded her tribute with prayers for her mother’s peace and guidance, saying that while two years have passed, the pain of losing her remains as vivid as the first day.
In Domm, Puja stars as Rani, the wife of Afran Nisho’s character, Shahjahan Islam Noor. The film also features Dolly Zahur in the role of Noor’s mother, complementing Pooja’s portrayal in the ensemble cast.
