Airtel, the youth-focused brand of Robi Axiata PLC, has released a story-driven Eid short film titled “Home Not Coming”, moving away from conventional promotional advertising.
The film, available on Facebook, YouTube and TikTok, tells a story centred on the emotions and experiences of young people during Eid, the company said in a press release.
The narrative explores whether “home” is defined by a physical place or by emotional connections.
Young actor Miraj Hasan Raihan plays the lead role alongside Arpita Pal, Mahadi Rahman, Hridmila Rahman, Mashiyur Siam, Mainul Islam Shuvo and Mohiuddin Saifullah Shuvro.
The story also focuses on friendships and shared memories among a group of friends during the festive period.
Filmmaker Jahid Preetom directed the short film, combining elements of nostalgia, youth culture and everyday experiences.
“Working on this Eid short film was both challenging and enjoyable,” said filmmaker Jahid Preetom.
“At times it felt as though we were reliving our own youthful friendships. The cast developed genuine bonds on set, which made many scenes feel less like performances and more like real moments,” he said.
Robi Axiata PLC is the second largest mobile network operator in Bangladesh.
Malaysia-based Axiata Group Berhad holds a 61.82 per cent stake in the company, while India’s Bharti Airtel owns 28.18 per cent and public shareholders hold the remaining 10 per cent.
