Global technology brand itel has launched the POWER 80, a rugged smartphone featuring what the company describes as the world’s first cage-frame design, aimed at users working and operating in demanding outdoor environments.
The smartphone combines rugged protection, battery endurance, AI-based adaptation features and practical performance, itel said in a press release.
Designed for users exposed to harsh conditions, the POWER 80 comes with dual SGS 5-Star Gold Drop-Proof certification and MIL-STD-810 military-grade durability. The device also has IP68 and IP69 protection against dust, mud, immersion, high-pressure water and changing weather conditions.
The company said the cage-frame design helps absorb and disperse impact, reducing the need for additional protective cases while maintaining a minimalist design.
The smartphone is powered by a 7,000mAh battery, which supports up to 10 hours of continuous short-video entertainment. It also features intelligent battery self-repair technology to delay battery ageing and extend full-cycle service life, according to the company.
The POWER 80 has a 6.78-inch high-definition display designed for clear viewing under strong outdoor sunlight, making it suitable for fieldwork, travel, construction and other outdoor activities.
The device runs on the Unisoc T7250 high-efficiency processor and operates on native Android 16, offering secure system interaction and long-term version optimisation.
itel said the smartphone’s AI adaptive outdoor experience can adjust functions including display brightness, call noise reduction and 4.5G field signal enhancement based on outdoor conditions.
Built around the company’s “2METER DROP NON-STOP” philosophy, the POWER 80 combines military-grade protection, cage-frame shock absorption, IP68 and IP69 protection, long-life battery performance and AI-powered outdoor optimisation.
The company said the device is designed to address common challenges faced by outdoor users, including fragile smartphones, limited battery life and reduced adaptability in demanding environments.
