Expatriate Bangladeshis sent $2.063 billion in remittances during the first 21 days of September of the current fiscal year (FY 2026-27), according to Bangladesh Bank data.
The inflow was 1.6 per cent higher than the $2.031 billion received during the same period of the previous fiscal year (1–21 September 2025).
On a single-day basis, remittance inflow stood at $69 million on 21 September.
With the latest inflow, the country’s total remittance receipts during FY2026-27, from 1 July to 21 September, reached $7.888 billion.
The figure represents a 13.8 per cent year-on-year increase from the $6.930 billion received during the corresponding period of FY2025-26.
The continued growth in remittance inflows is providing support to Bangladesh’s foreign exchange reserves and overall macroeconomic stability.
