Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) sources confirmed the information on Monday afternoon.

Earlier, Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Group Captain SM Ragib Samad, had said the air ambulance, arranged with the support of the Qatar government, was expected to land in Dhaka at 8:20am from Tbilisi, Georgia, with a planned return flight at 9pm the same day.

According to CAAB, the Qatar government had rented the aircraft from FAI Aviation Group.

However, the medical board treating Khaleda Zia has not yet made a decision about taking her abroad, citing her delicate health condition.

The 80-year-old former prime minister has been suffering from multiple chronic illnesses. On 23 November, she was admitted to Evercare Hospital for health checks, where a lung infection was detected, and she was subsequently moved to the CCU.

The government has declared her a ‘VVIP’ and assigned SSF security.

Experts from the UK and China have joined Evercare’s 12-member medical board to oversee her treatment.
