Agrani Bank PLC held a workshop on International Financial Reporting Standard-9 (IFRS-9) at its Training Institute in Dhaka on Saturday to discuss risk assessment and strengthen compliance with international accounting standards, said a press release. The day-long programme aimed to improve transparency in financial reporting and enhance the implementation of IFRS-9 across banking operations.
Sessions focused on expected credit loss assessments for loans and investments, as well as risk evaluation and reporting procedures under the IFRS-9 framework. Facilitators from Bangladesh Bank, alongside chief financial officers and treasury heads from various banks, conducted the technical sessions. The workshop also examined strategies to improve risk management and financial reporting practices in line with global standards.
The event was attended by Agrani Bank Director Muzaffar Ahmed FCMA, Managing Director Md Anwarul Islam, and Deputy Managing Directors Parsuma Alam, Md Abul Bashar and Rubana Parveen. General managers, circle heads, corporate branch heads and regional heads of the bank also participated, said the press release.
The programme reflects Agrani Bank’s commitment to aligning its operations with international accounting frameworks while enhancing the skills of senior management and technical staff to better manage credit and investment risks.
