Television actor Aditi Sharma has filed a domestic violence complaint against her husband and his family members, accusing them of physical and mental harassment, assault, verbal abuse and criminal breach of trust, reports Hindustan Times.
According to reports, an FIR was registered at Goregaon Police Station in Mumbai on 31 July following her complaint.
According to the FIR, Aditi has named her husband, Abhineet Vidyanand Kaushik, mother-in-law Urmila Kaushik, and sister-in-law Kirti Kaushik.
The accused have reportedly been booked under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including:
Section 85 – cruelty by husband or relatives
Section 316(2) – criminal breach of trust
Section 352 – intentional insult
The complaint also alleges that Aditi’s mother-in-law retained her wedding jewellery—including gold chains, rings, a diamond ring, mangalsutra and bangles—and failed to return the items despite repeated requests.
In her statement to the police, Aditi said she first met Abhineet in June 2021 while attending an online acting course.
Their friendship eventually developed into a relationship.
The couple reportedly moved into a rented apartment in Goregaon West in September 2024 before getting married on November 12, 2024, with the consent of both families.
According to the complaint, Aditi alleged that her husband’s behaviour changed soon after the wedding.
She claimed arguments frequently arose over her clothing and other minor issues, and alleged that he demanded money from her instead of contributing to household expenses.
The FIR further states that an argument over coffee on January 1, 2025, allegedly escalated into physical violence.
Aditi also alleged that her husband repeatedly questioned her character, accused her of infidelity, checked her mobile phone and eventually stopped sharing a room with her.
She further claimed that during disputes, her husband would call his mother and sister, who allegedly taunted her instead of helping resolve the conflicts, worsening her mental distress.
The case is being investigated by Assistant Inspector Amita Marathe of Goregaon Police Station.
According to reports, no arrests have been made so far, and the accused have not issued any public statement regarding the allegations.
The couple’s marital issues had previously come into the public eye in March 2025, when Abhineet accused Aditi of having an extramarital affair with her Apollena co-star Samarthya Gupta.
He had also alleged that she sought a divorce settlement of ₹25 lakh and denied the validity of their marriage.
Aditi had not publicly responded to those allegations at the time.
Aditi Sharma made her television debut with Kaleerein in 2018 and has since appeared in shows including Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka!, Rabb Se Hai Dua, Apollena – Sapno Ki Unchi Udaan, and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 14.
