Popular Bangladeshi singer Pantha Kanai has released his new song “Shei Ek Shomoy Chhilo” (There Was a Time), which premiered on Thursday under Aajob Records.
The song features lyrics by legendary lyricist Shahid Mahmud Jangi and composition by renowned musician Pilu Khan.
The animated music video was crafted by Mir Hisham, with Amzad Hossain Bappy handling sound design.
Speaking about his new release, Pantha Kanai said, “This song is quite different from the ones I usually perform. Both Jangi bhai and Pilu bhai are revered figures in our music industry, and working with them has been a truly rewarding experience.”
Lyricist Shahid Mahmud Jangi shared, “In this song, I tried to paint a picture of our lives during the pandemic. ‘Shei Ek Shomoy Chhilo’ reflects that period which has left a lasting mark on all of us.”
Composer Pilu Khan added, “I have composed more songs to Jangi bhai’s lyrics than anyone else’s. Working with him is always a joy. Pantha Kanai sang beautifully, and I hope listeners will appreciate our effort.”
The music video of “Shei Ek Shomoy Chhilo” is now available on Aajob Records’ YouTube channel, and the song can also be streamed worldwide on Spotify, iTunes, Deezer, Shadhin, and other major platforms.
