Quinton de Kock has made a surprise return to South Africa’s limited-overs squads for the upcoming tour of Pakistan.
The wicketkeeper-batter retired from ODIs after the 2023 World Cup with an emotional farewell. But he has now been recalled and is part of both the ODI and T20I squads named for the November tour.
De Kock will join a mix of senior and young players as South Africa look to build momentum. He also features in the T20I squad that will face Namibia ahead of the Pakistan series.
Test squad vs Pakistan:
Aiden Markram will captain the Test side. The squad includes David Bedingham, Corbin Bosch, Dewald Brevis, Tony de Zorzi, Zubayr Hamza, Simon Harmer, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj (for the second Test only), Wiaan Mulder, Senuran Muthusamy, Kagiso Rabada, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, Prenelan Subrayen and Kyle Verreynne.
T20I squad vs Pakistan:
David Miller leads the T20I squad. De Kock is joined by Dewald Brevis, Corbin Bosch, Nandre Burger, Gerald Coetzee, Donovan Ferreira, Reeza Hendricks, George Linde, Kwena Maphaka, Lungi Ngidi, Ngaba Peter, Lhuan-dré Pretorius, Andile Simelane and Lizaad Williams.
ODI squad vs Pakistan:
Matthew Breetzke captains the ODI squad. Alongside de Kock, the squad includes Corbin Bosch, Dewald Brevis, Nandre Burger, Gerald Coetzee, Donovan Ferreira, Bjorn Fortuin, George Linde, Kwena Maphaka, Ngidi, Ngaba Peter, Lhuan-dré Pretorius and Sinethemba Qeshile.
T20I squad vs Namibia:
Donovan Ferreira will lead the Proteas against Namibia. De Kock is also part of this squad, which includes Nandre Burger, Gerald Coetzee, Bjorn Fortuin, Reeza Hendricks, Rubin Hermann, Kwena Maphaka, Rivaldo Moonsamy, Ngaba Peter, Lhuan-dré Pretorius, Andile Simelane, Jason Smith and Lizaad Williams.
The Proteas will begin their tour with a one-off T20I against Namibia before facing Pakistan in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
