JMI Group, a leading pharmaceutical and medical equipment manufacturer in Bangladesh, celebrated World Peace Day 2025 in Dhaka with vibrant activities.
The company has marked this day annually since 2008, in line with the United Nations’ global call for peace.
The celebration began with a peace rally, inaugurated by JMI Group’s Founder and Managing Director Md Abdur Razzaq.
He released balloons and white doves, symbols of peace, in front of the “Peace Stand” at Curzon Hall, University of Dhaka.
The rally, which circled Doyel Chattor, ended at the Raju Bhaskarjya intersection.
Following the rally, JMI Group hosted a discussion session at its corporate headquarters.
Speakers at the event emphasised the importance of World Peace Day in promoting global peace, equality, and harmony, regardless of nationality, religion, or race.
Md Abdur Razzaq, addressing the event as chief guest, highlighted JMI Group’s ongoing efforts to support peace initiatives.
“Peace is not just a word; it’s a philosophy of life. We aim to make World Peace Day’s message a daily practice to achieve lasting peace,” he said.
JMI Group Chairman Md Jabed Iqbal Pathan underscored that peace is a universal right.
“Peace is not just the absence of war but the establishment of human rights and justice,” he said. “We must unite to build a world free from racism.”
Special guests included Major General (retd) Mostafizur Rahman, former director general of Administration, and Dr Md Touhidul Islam, associate professor at the University of Dhaka.
JMI Group, established in 1999, collaborates with international partners from Japan, South Korea, China, Turkey, and Thailand.
The company manufactures and markets life-saving medical equipment and medicine and imports liquefied petroleum gas to support eco-friendly energy needs in Bangladesh.
